Celine B. La Terreur is a feminist artist.
She works in installation with video, photography, performance, and painting.
Celine B. La Terreur is interested in exploring the way women think about psychology, sensitivity and society.
She conducts research on femininity by manipulating her own image through the lens of fictional situations of her own creation. This manipulation is expressed through the creation of costumes and the development of alter egos and personas. Céline B. La Terreur dares to dissect her fantasies and to dig up what is left unsaid about her own femininity. Her work is suffused with theatricality, humor and satire.
Céline B. La Terreur’s work is a tribute to women: to their strength, their power, their beauty and their enlightened presence in a world where they face injustice and inequity.

Celine B. La Terreur holds a Master's Degree in Visual and Intermedia Arts from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM, 2002) and a BFA from Concordia University (1999). She also holds a diploma in feminist studies (Minor: Women and the Fine Arts, Concordia University, 1999).
Celine B. La Terreur has presented many solo exhibitions and performances in France (Jean-François Meyer Gallery, Marseille, 2011; Art Mandat, Barjols, 2011) and in Canada (articule, 2009; Joyce Yahouda Gallery 2008, 2006, 2002; B-312 Gallery, 2001).
Celine B. LaTerreur's work was featured in international events such as the Oslo Screen Festival, Norway (2012) and the Magmart Video Art Festival, Naples, Italy (2012). Her work has also been shown in many group shows in Canada: Extreme Painting, Joyce Yahouda Gallery, 2010; Expansion, Galerie de l'UQÀM, Montréal, 2010; The Montréal All-Nighter, 2010, 2008, The International Edgy Women Festival, 2006; the Montréal Underground Film Festival, 2006.
Celine B. La Terreur’s short film, The Divine Tragedy: The Tower, has been presented at the Cannes Marché du Film and at the New York City International Film Festival and was officially registered for the 87th Academy Awards.
Her work was selected by curator Louise Déry for the group show Expansion (Galerie de l'UQÀM, 2010), and by curator Nicolas Mavrikakis for Extreme Painting (Joyce Yahouda Gallery, 2010).
Celine B. La Terreur has contributed to the first edition of the Dictionnaire des compétences des artistes en arts visuels, (Dictionary of expertise for visual artists) published by the "Regroupement des artistes en arts visuels" (RAAV) in 2010. This dictionary is now available in all art schools and universities in Quebec, Canada.
Celine B. La Terreur is involved in many feminist organizations and is a proud contributor to the project ArtFem.TV, an online television programme presenting Art and Feminism, founded in Austria in 2008.
Céline B. La Terreur is represented by the Joyce Yahouda Gallery.
