After having experimented with hypnosis for several years, Freud chose to abandon this technique, which he considered to be a magical act that constituted a rape of personality.*

Welcome to the Terror’s Salon, where you can lay down in comfort on a canopy bed worthy of a Dracula movie to admire portraits of magnificent women and experience a hypnosis session guided by Céline B. La Terreur.

This audio installation which is based on the content of Le livre noir de la condition des femmes (The Black Book of Women’s Condition),  comprises a hypnosis exercise that gives a troubling overview of women’s condition, describing the fate of millions, maybe billions of women who currently live with fear and violence.

As it says in the book, “this journey around the world could act as an incentive to all to break the silence. As a commitment, in some way […] Because the silence that surrounds these human dramas exacerbates the impression of a political and public indifference that is already too widely felt.”
With this work, the silence is broken.
